The World Bank Group, one of the largest sources of funding and knowledge for developing countries, has partnered with CES —the world’s largest and most influential technology event—to launch a Global Tech Challenge to bridge the digital gender divide.

Given the COVID-19 pandemic, they will accept rapid response applications to fast track implementation of sustainable solutions around digital access and online content

(Eileen Cejas) YouthLACIGF: Call for session proposals + Open Course

The Call for session proposals for the YouthLACIGF  2020 is open. The YouthLACIGF 2020 will take place as online meeting in August 1-2, Santiago de Chile Time Zone (UTC/GMT -4).

The Organising Committee is receiving applications on the chosen thematic areas for this year’s edition: 

1) Online education and access to the Internet. Digital Literacy matters!
2) Misinformation, problems with social media
3) COVID 19 related to privacy and cybersecurity in Latin America and the Caribbean region
4) Online democracies: a new model of democracies after the pandemic? Submit your session application here.*

We are accepting applications in EnglishSpanishFrench and Portuguese. Further information on formats, requirements and deadlines are at the Youth LACIGF website http://youthlacigf.org/

Deadline for session proposals is June 7, 11pm UTC


  Taking into account the impact of the pandemic in the Latin America and the Caribbean region, we are offering an Open Course, with the support of Internet Society, as preparatory course for the YouthLACIGF and LACIGF meetings. This Open Course will have specialists from the Latin America and the Caribbean region and part of Youth Observatory members as well. Enroll here* by May 14 at 11.59 pm UTC

  • (Eileen Cejas) Join the Stakeholders’ Dialogue organised by Missions Publiques

The online event ‘Stakeholders’ Dialogue’ organised by Missions Publiques on June 5-6. In this event, we will discuss the future of Internet Governance by analysing the 3 arquitecture models of digital cooperation, being one of them the IGF Plus (the one you may reply a survey some weeks ago by the IGF).
This event will feed the process UN process on the Future of Digital Cooperation kicked off by the Report of the High-Level Panel on Digital Cooperation from the UN Secretary General.
There are several parts of the models which are very important, but today I would like to mention to you the youth representation in key places of Interney policy.
